Starting next Monday, Morning Conversations devotes its 7am hour to civic education. The series runs for six weeks and is built around one question per week: how does this part of government actually work, and how can you reach it when you need to?
Week one: the County Council. Week two: the District Commissioner. Week three: how a budget gets approved. Week four: filing a complaint against a public official. Week five: the role of the press. Week six: voting — what to expect, what to ask, what to refuse.
Each episode opens with a 12-minute explainer, followed by a panel of two — one local official, one citizen advocate — and 30 minutes of phone-ins. Listeners can text questions in advance to the studio number; we’ll pick the best ones for the air.
