On 6 February 2005, a transmitter in Geekloh Community went live for the first time. The station that started broadcasting that morning was the first of its kind in Sinoe — independent, community-owned, with one purpose: to give the people of this county a voice.
Twenty-one years later, that purpose has not changed. The equipment has. The studio has. The schedule has. The country around us has changed many times over. But the call sign is the same and the frequency is the same: 88.3 MHz, Voice of Sinoe.
This week we mark the anniversary with three special programs:
– Monday 7pm — a conversation with three of the founding broadcasters.
– Wednesday 7pm — listeners share their first memories of the station.
– Saturday 6pm — a live community concert from the Greenville town square.
Thank you for keeping us on the air.
